International ESRI Conference October 2011

The ARCH Project was presented on 5th and 6th October in Versailles (France) during the International ESRI Conference which attracted over 2000 participants. This conference brings together the practitioners of the ESRI softwares in order to introduce them to the different uses made by the softwares’ buyers as well as presenting them the new products.

Florence Decaudin, in charge of the cartography of the environment for the Nord-Pas de Calais Region, presented the ARCH project and detailed the natural habitats photointerpretation method adopted, as well as the cartographic representation of the data based on Arcmap 9.3 software. An audience of specialists in GIS was able to discover the innovative aspects of the ARCH project: an innovative method in identifying the different posts of the European Corrine Biotope classification (natural habitats) from aerial photos, an improved access to information with an update method using innovative spatial technologies.
